Game Overview
Geometry Dash Azimuth is the opening level in the Portal Gauntlet series, designed by Knots with a 4★ difficulty rating. The level is heavily inspired by compass, navigation, and astronomical themes and the player's clever approach to coin placement. The name "Azimuth" refers to the measurement of angles in navigation, and this theme appears in the level's background, transitions, and visuals.
Obstacle Gameplay
Geometry Dash Azimuth takes players on a multi-mode, rhythmically synchronized journey through various gameplay segments. The game starts with a ball mode on a classic TV background, then switches to cube mode, where the path is created by a slowly rotating square. From there, the level continues into a longer cube with moving platforms, jumps, and an expansive landscape.
In spaceship mode, you'll overcome compass obstacles and use a dash ball to cross a narrow gap. The core highlight (45–61%) is a non-interactive, cinematic animation interlude. The game continues with a slow cube segment before a visual pause. At the final 83–100%, the player re-emerges in cube mode, colliding with the balls, jumping on wobbly platforms, and facing an upside-down floating pyramid with a firefly effect before the level ends.
Tips and Tricks
- Practice the speed of its transitions so you always know which mode is coming next.
- Use the animation transition to reset your mind before continuing the game.
- Some jumps or platform paths depend on previous visual cues; recognize them to avoid missteps.
- Don't chase fake coins; focus on the real path.
User Coins
To unlock, the player must collect a hidden key around 9%. This key will trigger the real coin to appear at the end of the level (around 98%), where it is automatically collected. Along the way, the level will show the player's fake coins at 40%, 63%, and 89%—but they are only symbolic and cannot be collected. By designing this, Azimuth creates anticipation and encourages players to explore properly at the beginning rather than wandering around in the middle of the level.
